Geeky Kink Event

A couple weeks ago I vended at Jeff Mach's Geeky Kink Event. It was so much fun, and such an accepting environment, that I really hope I can vend there again next year!

Photographs were extremely limited due to the nature of the event, but I was able to get a couple!

This is Psyche Corporation spinning lightstick poi whilst singing my favorite song of hers, "The Crime". Also she's wearing a dress and corset from my "Maintain Radio Silence" Collection.

And my lovely assistant Kristin Etzold dressed in her halloween costume I made for her! She's Shirley Temple!

Gen and Jen are Married!!!

So I have two beautiful friends, Jennifer and Genevieve Rudolph, who got married in late August! It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have experienced, and so many people were there to support them, the amazing energy was tangible.

One reason I'm posting about this is that I made Genevieve's dress. (You may recognize her as a model from many of my past fashion shows!) Another reason is that this particular instance has inspired a shift in my professional life.

For a long time I have struggled between wanting to focus on costume work, or ready to wear. After making this dress, I did some research, and it came to my attention that couture is still very much alive, even here in the U.S.. It just occurs in the bridal field.

So since August, I've had a lot of changes in my life occur because of my friends' wedding. I became a bridal alterations seamstress, and am now designing wedding dresses within my own collections, and for stores in my area.

More on that in my next post, but I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to make a dress for such a wonderful occasion and person, and am excited for the opportunities it has led me to!
